Warnings / Cautions / Notes
CAUTIONS:
  • The 'Spare Wheel Lock' cannot be used alongside the 'Spare Wheel Cover'.

  • Fitting to an incompatible wheel style can cause damage to the wheel.

  • Do not drive vehicle with Rimgard modules installed without locking cylinder barrels (C).

NOTES:
  • Take special care of the key card supplied. This needs to be presented to the Retailer/Authorized Repairer to order a replacement key. Replacement keys can only be ordered through a Retailer/Authorized Repairer.

  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

  • Keep key with main vehicle key - Do Not Lose.

  • Any spare parts and tool bits should be handed over to the customer during the demonstration handover.

Installation
  1. E352517
    Using the 'Wheel Badge Removal Tool' (F) remove and retain the centre cap badge from the spare wheel.

    Remove the cylinder lock barrel from the module.
    1. Insert 'Key' (G) into the 'Cylinder Lock Barrel' (C) and turn the key 1/4 anticlockwise to unlock.
    2. Remove 'Cylinder Lock Barrel' (C) from 'Module' (B).

    Remove the retention ring from the module.
    1. Insert 'Adapter' (D) into the module.
    2. Hold the 'Retention Ring' (A) while turning the 'Adapter' (D) anticlockwise to release the retention ring from the module. Then remove the adapter.
  4. CAUTION:

    Make sure arrow is pointing upwards towards wheel bolt recess.

    Install the retention ring to the spare wheel.
    1. Position 'Retention Ring' (A) to wheel centre at an angle with the arrow pointing upwards towards the upper wheel bolt position.
    2. Lightly squeeze the retention clips and insert into wheel aperture.

    Install 'Module' (B) to the spare wheel making sure the cut out is facing downward.
  6. CAUTION:

    Do not use impact wrench and do not overtighten.

    NOTE:

    Mark the adapter with a pen to make sure 1/4 turn of the hex key.

    Secure the module to the spare wheel.
    1. Install 'Adapter' (D) into the module and hand tighten clockwise.
    2. Using the 'Hex Key' (E) insert it into the adapter and do a final secure with a 1/4 clockwise turn.
  7. NOTE:

    Inspect the lock is secure (does not rattle) prior to driving the vehicle.

    Lock the module to the spare wheel.
    1. Insert the 'Cylinder Lock Barrel' (C) into the module and turn the key 1/4 clockwise to lock.
    2. Make sure to remove the key.
  8. NOTE:

    Make sure logo on centre cap badge is horizontal to cut out on module.

    Install the centre cap badge to the module.
